How to create a video resume?
A video resume allows you to speak directly to a potential employer and highlight what makes you best for the position. It can be a powerful addition to your application and help you better standout from other applicants.
It is simple and easy follow these steps to create a job description video.
- Click on “+Create New Video” text.
- Select Upload Video OR Record Video.
- If you already have a video that you would like to use then go ahead and click on “Upload Video”.
- If you do not have a video, you can create one by simply clicking on “Record Video” ( Make sure your device has access to the camera and microphone). Once you click on “Record Video” you should be able to see yourself on the screen.
- Click on “Start Recording ( wait for countdown).
- After you are done, click Finish Recording.
- Click on “Retake’ if you are not happy or click on “Finalize” if you are happy.
- Name your video.
- Select thumbnail.
- Click Save.

- Preparation a plan for what you want the video to look like.
- Consider whether you want to just sit in front of the camera or stand.
- Outline bullet points of the specific skills, experiences and qualifications you want to highlight.
- Set up recording space with a neutral background and attractive lighting.
- Set the recording device high enough to capture your face and shoulders and far away enough that your whole profile is in the frame.
- Get ready like you are going to an interview. Dress in proper, workplace attire, such as business casual clothing.
